A Plea for Medical Assistance

My name is Regina Vick and I live on Hwy 47. My son, Robert (Robby) Poole, Jr. age 21, has a rare blood disease MDS. It's a cancer requiring a bone marrow transplant. His sister is the donor. This is a 1 in a million chance that this would happen to someone at such a early age. Normally this condition is found in older people.

I am trying to get the word out to ask the community to help. What is needed is if anyone is interested in making a donation OR just donating blood (Type A+) at UAB for his transplant OR adding him to the prayer list at your church. Transplant date is near Sept 25th with admission to UAB on September 14th. He is required to have Chemo prior to the transplant.

He does not have any health insurance and we have set up a trust fund at First National Bank of Shelby County for any tax deductible donations.

If you could assist in publishing this information on Chelsea E-Times, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, any donations or assistance the public can render to my son would also be greatly appreciated by us.
