We’re CUB SCOUTS!

Our 2004/2005 Scout year has begun and we are off to a great start. We have welcomed 45 new Scouts to our Pack at our recent Back to School Night. Pack 353 now has over 119 Scouts in grades 1-5. This is wonderful news for Chelsea and we are looking forward to a terrific year.

We have also welcomed a new Cub Master this year, Ken Porter. Ken has a 3rd grade son and a 5th grade daughter attending Mt. Laurel Elementary in Chelsea. Ken and Donna live in Highland Lakes. We are very happy to have them!

We would like to thank Tony Carson who has served as our Cub Master for the past few years. Tony’s oldest son, a 6th grader at CMS, has “crossed over” to Boy Scouts and Tony has recently stepped down as our Cub Scout Leader. Tony was a great leader and made many positive changes for Scouting in Chelsea. Tony and Carol also have a 2nd grader and both boys attend Chelsea Elementary. The Carson’s live in Westover and are very involved in Chelsea’s youth. Tony is the current Baseball Commissioner and Carol can be found most days at either of Chelsea’s two Elementary Schools where she works as a substitute teacher.

We have had a large amount of parental support this year and have recruited some GREAT leaders! Below I am listing a contact person for each grade. If you or your son is interested in Scouting, please give us a call. It’s not too late to join our Pack!

Our 1st Pack Meeting will be Monday, September 27, 2004 at 7pm. We will meet at Liberty Baptist Church.
