Chelsea Clean-Up Day
Poster Contest


The Clean-Up Chelsea Day Poster Contest was a super success. Imagine how pleased we were when we had over 200 posters to judge! The judges were DanaPolk, Sherry Pouncey, Wayne Champion, Mary Herrington, Bob Wanninger and Juanita Champion.



The winners from Chelsea Elementary School were
1st place - Dylan Watkins;
2nd place - Audra Daniels and
3rd place - Jessica Flaherty.




From Chelsea Middle School, the winners were
1st place - Tony Icolona;
2nd place - Tres Gregg; and
3rd place - Tina Roberts.




Mount Laurel winners were
1st place - Melissa Hayden;
2nd place - Daniel Hayden; and
3rd place - Austin Thrasher.

They were given ribbons and will receive a monetary award at the Dec. 7 City Council meeting. Their posters will be on display at the City Hall the week of Dec. 6.

This contest gave us a lot of publicity for our clean up day. Now, there are posters in most all of the businesses in Chelsea which give the information about this important day. Without the students, we would not have had the ability to publicize this event so effectively. Our thanks to all the students who participated.

Chelsea has a litter problem and this is one way that each of us can help by removing trash from the road sides in our city. Children will be assigned to safe areas which do not have traffic, while we adults will go to clean up areas with some automobile traffic. You will be furnished with rubber gloves, orange vests and trash bags.

So remember, meet at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4 at City Hall.
