December Operations Report

Here is a summary of our activities for the month of December, 2002:

Total number of incidents in December, 2002 > 39
Total in December, 2001 > 42

Structure fires > 1
Brush fires > 4
Medical calls > 22
Wrecks > 4
Fire alarms > 2
Service calls > 6

Average response time > 6:09 (includes emergency & non-emergency responses)

Once again, we had a busy month with other activities as well. Some of them included:

• Monthly fire drills at our 3 schools
• On-going station "facelift" at Station 31 on Chesser Drive
• Held our "large scale" monthly drill on 12/29/02
• Received a donated Brush Truck to replace our older one that has been in service for several years (We'll need to work to get it in service soon)
• Placed x8 new fire hydrants in service around our community
• Helped Santa get around to most of our community to see the youngsters before Christmas
• Gave a Safety talk at Chelsea Elementary School
• Awarded our Medal of Valor to Deputy Chief Mark Turner
• Awarded our Firefighter of the Year to Lieutenant Adam Reeves
