Well its that time of year again, the temperatures are warm, the flowers are starting to bloom and the grass is beginning to turn green. This can only mean one thing its "Baseball Time in Chelsea". The Chelsea Youth Club will begin their 2002 baseball season, at the baseball complex located on Hwy 47, Saturday April 6 with the annual Jamboree. The first baseball games will begin at 8:00am and run throughout the day. All teams will play a regulation game that day.
However, baseball is not all that will be going on at the ball fields. We will have other activities set up beginning at 9:00am for the children of the community. There will be a moonwalk, a slide, basketball shooting, and a baseball throw clocked with a radar gun. Babe Ruff, mascot of the Birmingham Barons, will also be at the park between 10:00am and 11:00am. Admission to the park will be $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. Once in the park you can buy an all-day stamp for $5.00 that will admit you to all the activities. The concession stand will be open serving delicious food throughout the day.
There will also be a dunking booth so that all the kids and parents can try to dunk their favorite coach. You will be given 3 throws for $1.00. The team generating the most money will be given a pizza party.
