Chelsea 11/12 Baseball All Stars
Going to the State Tournament

The Chelsea 11&12 year olds completed the round robin portion of their tournament with a 2-1 record and were the #2 seed in the double elimination tournament that started Friday June 30th in Calera. Chelsea looked good during the round robin with a 12-3 win over Montevallo, 2-0 win over Columbiana with their only loss coming against Calera 15-10. The double elimination tournament in Calera decided who represents District 4 in the state tournament in Troy. Chelsea started this tournament with a 10-9 loss to Calera. They came back the next night and defeated Shelby County 7-4. In this double elimination tournament they now had to beat Calera twice to win a birth into the State Tournament. Battling back from two earlier losses to Calera, they were down 7 to 8 in the last inning with two outs, two runners on, and a 2 and 2 count to the batter. With a two out and two strike hit to the center field fence Chelsea scored the winning runs and defeated Calera 9-8.

The last night of the tournament Chelsea never let up and beat Calera with a strong 10-1 victory to win the District 4 Campionship and a spot in the State Tornament in Troy. Congratulations to all the boys for their winning spirit. Going to the State Tournament is a big deal that few ever get to experience. These children will be representing not only Chelsea, but a broad area covered by there district. These kids have work extremely hard to accomplish what they have and now need your support to make this a memorable event that will last a lifetime.
